Return to Early Harvest.
malus domestica seedlng
Yellow Juneating, Yellow June, Yellow Harvest
A very early tart yellow Summer apple, ripens over a longer period of time than yellow transparent. Great as an early cooker but a good dessert apple if you like tart apples.
1700's, seedling from Long Island, New York.
Well adapted to a wide range of climate and soil condition.
Bloom Time Rating:
Small to medium sized pale yellow apple with smooth skin, light reddish-orange blush, has whitish surface specks that darken with fruit maturity.
The juicy white flesh is tender yet crisp and has a tangy, rather brisk flavor.
Ripens June to July, doesn't store well.
Excellent cooking, brisk for eating but good for those who like a tart apple.
